Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Do allow me to introduce myself…

But first, it just may happen, from time to time that you’ll grant me a few minutes from your day and read some of my posts. Some opinions, we may share a common ground while other times, we shall depart on different paths. However I just want you to know that I respect all opinions and mine will never stand superior to any. The only ruling and opinion that stands on highness is that of Allah and His messenger.

So allow me to take this opportunity while I still have your attention to apologize in advance for any of my words that may cause confusion or lead to frustration. Do you accept my apology? Good. In that case, let us continue.

Some of my homeboys have asked if I consider myself to be a writer; the answer, no. I’ve been called a poet, which I’m far from being so the question still stands; what do I consider myself to be? In short, I’m just a servant to Allah. Nothing more and nothing less. I’ve realized over the years that success, honor and glory belongs to Allah and the only means to access such qualities is through Him, the Majestic and Great. While some men chase the world, I sit and open my eyes to the cold bitterness of reality. At other times, I enjoy the moment and remind myself not take time for granted. The days of prosperity are alternated for mankind to enjoy while the moments of hardship awaits each and everyone of us on our very next turn. That is life. Some days you’ll be walking on clouds thinking you are among the untouchables and on other days, you’ll properly hide your face in the softness of your palms shedding tears wondering why why why….

It is my objective, through my poetic justice, that I bring to light some issues that may have been or continue to get overlooked. In all honesty, my posts and in particular, the subjects for my blogs will expose the blamers and cause them to speak out against me but I don’t fear the words of the blamers so let them find my views and thoughts on this blog. I may start off slow with my subjects but I’ll pick up the pace as time goes. Some readers, I’ll leave behind and others will remain with me as we embark upon the road to truth.

Will you be among those who will be left behind or do you have what it takes to keep pace? The answer, only Allah knows.

  1. Br. Ameen,

I have a question for you. How long does it take you to write these blogs, just curious. Is it something you do everyday, or during your spare time?

  2. Wa salaam

Its funny you ask such a question because just last night my co-worker couldnt stop reminding me on how much Ive been neglecting him while occupying myself with the Blog.

But I dont think Im ignoring him but instead, he probably has a whole lot to get off his mind during this time of the season for them. I work the night shift therefore I have plenty of time on my hand.

I wish I could tell you that I write everyday or that my objective is to post three times a week but I just dont know. What happens is, an idea comes to me and I strive to find the words that describe my idea. When I find such words, I write.

It doesnt take me that long though, well at least not on the topics Ive already posted. The time length depends on the transition from thoughts to ideas, which in result become words and finally a post.

    And Allah knows best

  3. You don’t like to be called a poet?

I personally vision you as a freedom writter, would you agree?

  4. A Freedom Writter? Sure, but not just any freedom writer but instead, one who rebels on the blank piece of paper.

    Thats ME!

  5. Assalaamu’ alaykum…

Hey I came across this project yesterday and I thought it might interest you. Masha allah I think you’re a talented writer/poet. I enjoy reading your writings a lot, I’m sure the ummah will love it too. Have a look at this current project by An-Najm Publishers. I’m not sure if you’ve come across their work because they’re fairly new and based in the UK. Read about it here: It’s called ‘Open Letters, Open Hearts’

  6. Bint Ibraheem, thanks for the link.
I checked out their site and Ive even sent them a piece. They emailed me back with positive comments. Whether they publish the piece or not, we’ll just have to wait and see.

  7. Salam Alaikum,

wanted to ask you if you have alwyas been this steadfast in your deen or did you have an epiphany of some sort?

  8. Wa salaam,

Its always been and will continue to be a struggle. Some days you’ll succeed, while others days I fail. All I tell myself is, stay with it and inshAllah in the end, Allah will admit us into His paradise.

  9. As salam ‘aleykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

  10. Wa salaam bro..

  11. I’ve stumbled on this, just one of those days where one’s stumbling leads them to something truly amazing.
    Salam.

  12. Wa Salaam Aleykum,

Don’t know how I came about the website now but its a gem.

  13. Wa salaams. And welcome – all of you that is – to my blog. Thanks for your support and your time. May Allah be pleased with y’all.

  14. As-salamu alaikum brother. Masha’Allah, I must say you have a gift. I’m glad I stumbled upon your blog and only hope the hiatus comes to an end.

    • Salamu alaykum brother ameen, it’s been so long. I wonder if you still write. It feels so odd not reading your writing. The Internet has a strange way of making people lose contact . I don’t even know if you’ve passed on to the next life. I hope all is well. I genuinely do. I used to read this blog on repeat years ago and keep wondering where’s the author got to.

      • All is well Al-hamdulilah. The blog is back. Thanks for your concern.

  15. Does anyone know what happened to this blog? Wa alaykum asalaam

    • The blog is up and active…

I’m sorry for my extended absence, but I’m back!

  16. The Seekers Notes, wa salaam.

Yes indeed! Its been a while but I’m doing great, thank you for asking. Maybe I should make a return to my blog and start a round 2 – lots of happened since my last visit to the Valley.

    Thank you for visiting.
